It was a great day to be an intern for the CGA yesterday. It started with the intern recognition reception where all the interns were presented with citations and had their pictures taken with the aids they worked for, but before my name was called I was sitting in the Senate Chamber with Sakina, the other intern for Senator Meyer's office and Jacqueline, Senator Meyer's legislative aid, when Senator Meyer stood up and recognized us in front of the entire Senate Chamber. This was probably the coolest thing EVER!! He presented us with framed citations and thanked us for our hard work as interns this session. After being presented with that citation I received the second citation that all the interns received and had my picture taken with Jacqueline. :)
Then in the afternoon Sakina, Colleen, and myself had a chance to meet the members of the UCONN Huskies women's basketball team, men's basketball team and the football team. This was a very cool event and I even had the chance to get some autographs and take some pictures.
It was definitely a cool day to be an intern.
