Today is the big day. Today I am off to Washington DC to spend a week there with the Washington Center seminar program and a group of Quinnipiac students. Right now I am sitting by gate 4 at Bradley international, i chose to fly because an hour flight is MUCH better than the 7 hour train ride that I took when I did this in January.
Airports are funny places. I think it's one of those things that either you love or you hate and either you get it or you don't. Personally I like traveling and I think I pretty much get it. Other than the time I missed my stop because the speakers weren't working in my car and I didn't know I needed to move forward on the train, I haven't seem to have many slip ups traveling.
My flight leaves in an hour and then once I get to Baltimore I will have to take a shuttle to the end of the metro line and then take the metro to the, what I'm sure is amazing, apartment that Washington Center students stay in.
I am looking forward to this week; the networking and learning opportunities are endless. What I am not looking forward to is the lack of sleep and ton of work that is about to hit me face on before I even get to my apartment.
Just received an email from my professor Scott Mclean, this week we are going to hear from the Ambassador from Iraq, Ralph Nader, and a White House Briefing, which I am assuming/hoping means I may get to meet Robert Gibbs. If I get to meet Robert Gibbs I am going to be SOOOO excited because he currently holds me DREAM JOB!!
Well things are happening, perhaps I should shut down and pack up. Keep tuned this week for more updates about my trip :)
